The Vision

Camp Chisomo is located in southern Malawi, a region that is rich in natural resources and cultural beauty. Camp Chisomo is established in the heart of the village that we have spent over a decade working with in order to continue building relationships and implementing sustainable resources and practices.

Camp Chisomo programming runs throughout the year, providing children in the village with biblical discipleship, life-skills training, age-specific tutoring, and engaging games and activities. Our full-time staff team in Malawi invests in the lives of these children, meeting with guardians and families regularly to ensure that the entire family structure is on the same page regarding the child’s present and future. Our staff also works with local leaders and authorities in schools and hospitals, partnering to improve the lives of children within the community.

Our camp facilities are intended to bring structure and safety to our campers, while providing them with the new and exciting experiences. Sitting on 16 acres of land, our campus includes a deep water pump, a soccer pitch, a variety of fruit trees, and farm land for future cultivation. Our Staff Housing Building hosts stateside counselors that come throughout the year to run camp programming, while also providing a space for children to participate in tutoring and STEM activities. Our Education Pavilion allows for group meetings, bible studies, classroom exercises, community classes, and large group teachings. Our future goals include overnight cabins, opening the opportunity for children to have weeklong camp experiences in the future. This will likely be the first time these children will sleep in a bed or under a mosquito net to protect them during the night.
